# US/UK product price research: source-screened update

This study cannot provide a publicly verifiable winning offer. Its September 2026 retailer price/status rows and downloads were withdrawn. What remains here is our own four-case selection plan, its limits, and separate US and UK worked examples for checking current offers.

- The September 13 protocol selected two products in two markets, with two intended retailers per case: eight planned checks. It was a convenience sample, not a survey of US or UK prices.
- The public offer evidence is withdrawn. The selection plan does not prove historical savings, a current deal, a complete outcome matrix or a price trend between isolated observations.

The retailer-price tables, numeric comparisons and downloads were removed after a September 23, 2026 source review. We have not restored their amounts, page extracts or historical status rows. There is no public offer matrix from which a reader can reproduce a winning-price claim.

The roster below records our own choices before the study. It helps explain what was being compared, but cannot replace the missing offer evidence. The source review was an editorial decision about this collection and reuse, not a finding that every report of a bare fact is unlawful.

## Four cases, eight planned checks.

The private protocol was recorded on September 13, 2026 at 12:34:26 UTC; the archive records completion at 13:31:06 UTC. These are study-level timestamps, not capture times for each retailer page. Two product categories and two English-speaking markets were selected as a convenience sample, not randomly.

Each row below planned two retailer checks. A plan is not evidence that both pages supplied a verified, purchasable offer. No page-level price, stock, condition or model-suffix outcome is reproduced.

The archive also contains a same-day UK follow-up and a September 20 UK repeat. Neither gives continuous coverage of the intervening week. With their offer evidence withheld, this page draws no finding about when a price changed or whether a lower amount was available between checks.

## Compare within a market, then explain the saving.

These amounts are invented, not recovered study data or current retailer offers. In each eligible pair, assume the exact variant, retail quantity, new condition, seller, stock/delivery eligibility, currency, tax basis and ordinary one-off purchase terms are confirmed.

- **Use the product page to identify the model.** Sony's US black listing and UK specifications identify WH-1000XM5; the UK page also lists other colours and box contents. These references do not authenticate a marketplace seller or prove every regional package is identical.
- **Count the retail package.** For Tiny Plants 10329, quantity 1 is one complete retail set. It is not one plant, a loose component or a building piece. A different set code belongs in a separate comparison.
- **Keep the actual seller and tax basis visible.** A storefront logo does not identify the contracting seller. The FTC advises checking individual marketplace sellers and their terms. For a UK consumer advert, GOV.UK says costs and taxes such as VAT must be described accurately; verify the offer's actual basis rather than mixing a tax-exclusive number with a tax-inclusive one.
- **Leave unresolved facts unresolved.** A monthly payment, a member-only amount, a missing condition label or a blocked page cannot become an ordinary new-item winner by assumption. Record the limitation and seek current evidence.

## Stop when a mandatory fact is missing.

Use one exact product in one market. A failed or incomplete check is a limitation to record, not a price of zero.

1. **Fix the market and product** Choose US/USD or UK/GBP, exact model or set code, variant, complete retail quantity and new condition. Confirm any regional package difference before treating offers as equivalent.
2. **Read each current offer** Identify the actual seller, full item amount, current stock/delivery eligibility and public URL. Keep an observation date/time; a search snippet is discovery, not offer verification.
3. **Resolve the purchase basis** Match currency, tax basis and membership or commercial requirements. Do not substitute monthly payments, used stock or unexplained packages for the selected one-off new-item purchase.
4. **Compute item savings and disclose costs** Rank verified normalized item prices only. Record shipping as verified free, a stated charge or unknown. Unknown shipping remains blank in the calculator and prevents a complete numeric budget.
5. **State only the result the evidence supports** Report the lower verified item price and its comparison baseline, or identify the unresolved gate. Do not turn a snapshot into continuous price history, a holiday saving or a market-wide lowest-price claim.

## Questions and answers

### What can the public study establish now?

Its own four-case selection plan and comparison method. With historical offer rows withdrawn, it cannot provide a publicly reproducible winning-price or saving claim.

### Did eight planned checks mean eight verified offers?

No. A selected page might be missing, unavailable or incomplete. The roster records intended checks, not verified purchase outcomes.

### Can I rank a US dollar price against a UK pound price?

Not by comparing the raw numbers. This study did not establish a common currency/tax basis, destination eligibility or import costs for cross-border shopping.

### Does WH-1000XM5 prove two packages are identical?

No. Confirm colour, regional code, complete contents, condition and actual seller. Manufacturer references do not establish a particular seller's stock or package.

### What does quantity 1 mean for LEGO 10329?

One complete retail set. Do not normalize its price by counting loose plants or individual building pieces as equivalent offers.

### Can shipping reverse the item-price result?

No. Item savings use verified comparable item prices. Disclose shipping separately; an unknown charge is not zero and does not support a complete numeric budget.
