Shop A has the lower matching item price by GBP5. If no other charges apply, its known budget is GBP138 and Shop B's is GBP134. Those budgets do not reverse the item-price ranking. Unknown shipping would leave a budget incomplete.
Suppose Shop A also displays RRP GBP199, while your one dated pre-sale observation from that seller was GBP149. GBP129 is about 35% below that RRP and about 13.4% below your observation. Neither figure proves the RRP was a real selling price or establishes a historical minimum. Preserve the reference period, seller, variant and conditions behind each claim.
Know them by sight
Four gaps to resolve before paying.
These are checks on the particular offer, not measured claims about how often retailers use a tactic.
- A similar name or a different box. A model suffix, ANC option or missing accessory can change the product. Counter-move: use manufacturer specifications and full contents; the AirPods 4 example below separates two concrete packs.
- An unsupported reference price. A percentage alone does not show the earlier selling price or its coverage. Counter-move: retain dated evidence for this seller and exact variant; record gaps rather than treating one screenshot as 30 days of history.
- A price with another purchase requirement. Membership, subscription, coupon thresholds or a different seller can change eligibility. Counter-move: record the actual requirement and compare like purchase conditions; do not count unconfirmed cashback as an item-price reduction.
- A checkout condition you have not read. Delivery, mandatory charges and return or adjustment terms remain separate checks. Counter-move: read the final price breakdown and written deadlines before paying; a timer proves neither a bargain nor misconduct.

If a Black Friday listing names AirPods 4, decide whether you need Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) before comparing prices. Standard AirPods 4 does not include ANC. The ANC version is a different pack: a lower standard-model price is not a matching alternative when noise cancellation is required.
Apple's variant, box and charging-case details were rechecked on 4 October 2026. Compare ANC full packApple says these charging cases work with their matching earbuds and are not interchangeable between the two variants. A protective cover fitting another housing does not establish charging-case compatibility or add ANC. A case-only, single-earbud or cover listing is an accessory or replacement part, not either complete pack.
Before accepting an offer, confirm both earbuds and the matching charging case, exact MPN and any stated EAN, actual seller, new condition, availability and delivery to your UK address, full GBP item price, tax basis and membership conditions. Resolve missing details with the seller. Keep used and refurbished listings separate. Apple lists the USB-C charging cable as sold separately.

What the law already promises

The legal price shown to a buyer and our comparison of matching item prices have different roles. Keep shipping visible separately without changing the item-price order.
Misleading prices and urgency
CMA guidance covers misleading commercial practices, including price claims and false limited-time messages. It also prohibits introducing mandatory charges late in checkout. Check the basis and period of a was-price claim; do not import the EU 30-day rule as a fixed UK rule.
Returns and a later price cut
GOV.UK says sale purchases retain the same statutory refund rights as full-price goods. Distance cancellation generally requires notice within 14 days after receipt and return within another 14, with exceptions. In-person change-of-mind returns depend on policy. A return deadline alone does not create a price-adjustment promise.

When is Black Friday 2026?
Friday, November 27, the day after US Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday is November 30. Retailers set their own campaign periods; UK Small Business Saturday is December 5.
Is Cyber Monday cheaper than Black Friday?
The dates cannot establish that. Compare dated eligible item prices for the exact product. Waiting guarantees neither a lower price nor available stock.
How can I check a Black Friday percentage?
Identify the reference: a prior selling price, RRP or another stated basis. Check its period, seller and purchase conditions. One screenshot is one observation; it cannot prove a historical minimum.
Do UK shops have to use a 30-day lowest price?
Do not treat the EU rule as a fixed UK rule. CMA guidance covers misleading pricing, false urgency and late mandatory charges. Read the specific claim and evidence.
Are standard AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with ANC the same pack?
No. Choose whether you require ANC before comparing. Their charging cases are different and not interchangeable between those variants. A case-only or single-earbud listing is not a complete pack.
