Singles' Day 2026 is Wednesday, November 11 (11.11). For a shopper in Great Britain, the useful question is whether the exact product has a lower eligible item price, and whether the import costs and seller's terms fit the purchase. Each platform sets its own campaign hours; this guide does not confirm a 2026 marketplace sale window.
November 11 is the recurring date. Read the store's 2026 campaign terms for its start, end, time zone and coupon deadlines; Black Friday follows on November 27.
Compare matching new products in GBP on the same tax basis, with seller, stock and eligibility confirmed. Rank by item price and disclose shipping separately; import charges and card costs belong in a separate budget.
For non-excise goods sent from abroad to Great Britain, the GBP135 consignment threshold affects how VAT is collected and whether duty applies. Delivery, returns and platform protection still need an order-specific check.
This Great Britain edition is written and published by Muchita. It covers ordinary consumer purchases of non-excise goods delivered to England, Scotland or Wales; Northern Ireland has different import rules and is outside this edition. This is general information, not legal advice. Muchita is independent of the marketplaces and retailers named here. Spotted something outdated? Email privacy@muchita.ai.
The calendar
November 11 is a date, not a shared sale window.
The Alibaba 2022 factsheet describes November 11 as the recurring final sale day. It is historical evidence for 11.11, not an announcement of any platform's 2026 coupon, deposit or checkout hours.

The core skill
A lower item price can still need a larger budget.
The following numbers are invented, not checked offers. Assume both shops offer the same new complete product, are in stock, deliver to your address and meet the same purchase conditions. Both item prices include applicable VAT.

The overseas item price is GBP5 lower in this example. Known shipping does not reverse that item-price order; the two budgets help you decide what you can afford. An unresolved tax basis or product identity would prevent the offer comparison itself.
Coupon threshold example: an intended GBP48 item needs a GBP6 filler to unlock GBP5 off a GBP50 basket. The basket becomes GBP49 instead of GBP48 without the filler, assuming unchanged shipping. That is GBP1 more spent, not a saving on an identical basket. Do not attribute a basket coupon entirely to one item unless the terms and allocation support it.
Know them by sight
Four conditions to check on the actual order.
These checks address campaign terms that can change by platform, seller and country. No frequency or universal refund promise is assumed.
A coupon or deposit with its own clock. Record the full price, required balance, deadline and time zone. Counter-move: read whether and when the deposit is refundable before paying; do not assume forfeiture or a later lower price.
A local-looking listing dispatched abroad. A UK-facing page does not prove UK dispatch or a UK return address. Counter-move: confirm actual seller, dispatch country, delivery to your address and return destination.
VAT or carrier charges unresolved. A label such as tax included may not describe every charge on arrival. Counter-move: retain the checkout tax breakdown and obtain the relevant duty/handling quote; leave unknown budget lines unresolved.
A protection deadline with a different trigger. Platforms can distinguish non-delivery, delivered-but-wrong goods, receipt confirmation and automatic completion. Counter-move: read the current order timer and refund terms, save evidence, and contact the seller/platform within the applicable route and deadline.
What the law already promises
Great Britain: import costs and remedies.
The GBP135 test concerns the consignment, not each separate item. These summaries cover non-excise consumer purchases; they do not calculate a duty rate for your product.
VAT up to GBP135
For goods outside the UK sold directly to consumers in Great Britain in consignments valued at GBP135 or less, supply VAT is normally collected at sale. HMRC defines intrinsic value and adds items sent together; separately stated transport, insurance and identifiable taxes are excluded from that value. Marketplace VAT rules require a separate check.
GOV.UK says import VAT is payable to the delivery company for goods worth more than GBP135. Customs duty above that threshold depends on the type and origin of the goods. When charged, the duty base includes postage, packaging and insurance; import VAT can include those costs and duty. Confirm the actual quote and any carrier fee.
UK distance-sales guidance generally gives 14 days after receipt to notify cancellation, then another 14 days to return, with specified exceptions. It does not create one worldwide platform dispute timer. For an overseas seller, confirm the applicable terms and how you would enforce a remedy; read who pays return postage.
The CMA guidance prohibits misleading commercial practices and introducing mandatory charges late in checkout. Its rule concerns the advertised purchase price. Our comparison still ranks matching item prices and discloses shipping separately.
A store discount, a platform basket coupon and a future cashback payout can have different eligibility, expiry and refund consequences. Read the particular offer; a collected coupon is not evidence that your basket qualifies.
Evidence to retain. Keep the coupon conditions, item page, seller identity, checkout price/tax/shipping lines and the time of your check.
A tool or promotion that earns commission. Read its own affiliate, referral and ranking disclosures. Lack of visible checkout changes does not establish that there is no affiliate tracking.
Before and during 11.11
Keep one usable note before paying.
Copy this into a note: product/model/contents/condition; seller and dispatch country; dated GBP item price and tax basis; eligibility; shipping; import/handling/card costs; delivery and return/protection deadlines. No personal or payment details are needed.
Match the product and seller.
Resolve model, variant, complete contents, new condition, stock and delivery to your address. Keep uncertain or used listings separate.
Check the campaign conditions.
Read the full coupon/deposit price and deadlines. Confirm membership and other eligibility rather than applying a headline discount.
Compare the item price, then plan the budget.
Rank matching eligible item prices on the same currency/tax basis. List shipping as free, + a known charge or unknown. Add only known import and card costs to a separate budget.
Save the terms and inspect the parcel.
Retain the checkout and order deadline. Inspect promptly; use the correct non-delivery or goods-problem procedure rather than assuming a timer starts only on delivery.
Where Muchita fits
Check a matching offer in your own market.
Muchita Shopping is a free extension for desktop Chrome. When asked, it checks matching new, in-stock offers, reports verified item prices with shipping separately and links the evidence. It has no affiliate links or paid placement, needs no account and does not modify retailer links or checkout.
Cross-border marketplace, used and resale listings are outside its checking scope. It may find no matching offer or insufficient evidence.
It does not calculate import VAT, customs duty, carrier fees or coupon/cashback eligibility.
Saved products retain local observations when you refresh them; there is no continuous/backfilled history, scheduled monitoring or price-drop alert.
Automatic checks require desktop Chrome. The site's manual comparison is usable on a phone; entered numbers do not verify an offer.
Questions and answers
Fair questions, plain answers.
When is Singles' Day 2026?
Wednesday, November 11. Campaign start/end times, coupons and deposit windows are platform-specific; this guide does not confirm them for 2026. Black Friday is November 27.
Is Singles' Day cheaper than Black Friday?
The dates do not establish that. Compare dated matching item prices, with currency, tax basis, seller, condition, stock and eligibility resolved. Keep shipping and import costs in separate budget lines.
Does the GBP135 threshold apply per item?
HMRC applies it to the consignment. Items sent together are added; intrinsic value excludes separately stated transport, insurance and identifiable taxes. This Great Britain edition does not cover Northern Ireland or excise goods.
Can I lose a deposit or coupon?
Check the actual campaign terms for refundability, expiry, required balance and time zone. No universal deposit-refund or forfeiture rule is established here.
When does buyer protection expire?
Use the timer and policy for your platform, country and order. Non-delivery and delivered-goods complaints can have different triggers. Receipt confirmation and automatic completion may matter; do not assume every window starts on delivery.
Can Muchita calculate the cost of an AliExpress import?
No. It does not compute import charges or verify cross-border marketplace offers. It can help check whether matching new offers in your own market have lower item prices; import budget and seller remedies remain separate checks.

This edition covers Great Britain; foreign customs systems and Northern Ireland are not summarised. No 2026 marketplace campaign or buyer-protection policy was verified, so those terms remain order-specific.
