Ask Muchita about one exact product. Codex opens Chrome for you; in ChatGPT, open the private check link. Muchita checks stores in your browser and returns the result to the same chat. No Muchita account or API key is needed. This plugin has not been submitted to OpenAI.

1. Set up Chrome once

Use the published Muchita Shopping extension in the Chrome Web Store. Click Add to Chrome, then confirm Chrome's permissions. Chrome lets Muchita read retailer pages to verify product variants, availability and prices.

If you started a check before installing, keep its original tab open. The same check continues automatically once Muchita is added. You do not need Chrome Developer mode, a ZIP download or Load unpacked. Unopened requests expire after ten minutes; ask for a fresh check if setup takes longer.

2. Connect your assistant

Codex - opens Chrome automatically

Requires Node.js 18+ and Chrome on this computer. Download the Codex plugin, extract it into a folder you can keep and open a terminal in that folder. Run:

Start a fresh chat with Muchita enabled. When you request a check, Chrome opens automatically. If the extension is missing, click Install Muchita on that page to open the Store; after installation, the check starts by itself.

Already installed an earlier preview? Remove its marketplace with codex plugin marketplace remove muchita-preview, add the newly extracted folder and run the install command above again. Start a new chat to load the local connection. Your OpenAI account can stay the same.

Claude Code - the same local connection

The shared desktop package also includes the Claude Code plugin. After extracting it, open a terminal in its plugins/muchita-shopping folder and run:

Run /reload-plugins in your Claude Code session, or start a new one. Requires Node.js 18+ and desktop Chrome on the same computer. The plugin opens Chrome for you and uses the same Store extension and automatic continuation as Codex.

ChatGPT developer preview - open one private link

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings > Security and login and enable Developer mode. Availability depends on your account and workspace policy. This is a ChatGPT connection setting; the Chrome extension installs normally from the Store.
  2. Open ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button and create a connection named Muchita Shopping. Enter this server URL, and choose no authentication if asked:

  1. Review the discovered check_price and get_price_check tools. In a new chat, add Muchita from the tools menu.

ChatGPT returns Open this check in Chrome. Open that private link on your computer; it cannot launch Chrome remotely. The Store extension runs the check and returns the result here. Do not forward the private link. This is a developer connection, not a Directory listing. If developer mode is unavailable, use the manual route below. OpenAI's connection instructions cover account access and refresh steps.

3. Try one product

Ask: Use Muchita to check Sony WH-1000XM5 in black in Germany. Once Chrome connects, Muchita checks stores for about 1-3 minutes. The assistant retrieves the result automatically. You can stop the check in Chrome, and a human check may need your attention.

Without a connected plugin, or on a phone

Use the product handoff. On desktop Chrome, run the regular check, choose Copy → AI, review the summary and paste it into your chat. On a phone, compare prices you enter or keep the product for a desktop check. Entered offers are not live verification.

Your product and your privacy

The local Codex and Claude connections use a loopback connection on your computer. The hosted ChatGPT connection processes only the product name or public link, optional shopping country and price-check result through Muchita's Cloudflare service. Stored request and result data is deleted within one hour; unopened links expire after ten minutes. Your conversation is never sent to Muchita. Retailer pages open in your own Chrome. A manual summary is shared only when you paste it. Shipping is disclosed separately and never changes item-price ranking. Muchita never makes a purchase.
